Job Description:
To support our growth, we seek Analysts to work in our Regulatory, Economic & Technical Services (RETS) line of business within our Environmental & Social Sustainability (ESS) Division. With more than 30 years of experience supporting the design, implementation, and improvement of federal and private sector programs, we support a wide range of clients at all levels of government and industry. RETS is composed of a multidisciplinary staff of policy analysts, economists, attorneys, business analysts, scientists, engineers, transportation analysts, emergency management specialists, and others.

Within RETS, Analysts contribute to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff. They have the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge, gain exposure to major projects, interact with experts and clients in the field, while building content knowledge and consulting skills. Analysts advance in our consulting practice or go on to outstanding graduate programs around the country.

These positions will be located in Fairfax, VA and will be available in the spring and summer of 2015.

About the team:

The Regulatory, Economic, and Technical Services line of business supports public- and private-sector clients in the full-range of regulatory and economic activities. For clients with regulatory responsibilities, we offer a diversity of policy and economic support, such as estimate costs and benefits of regulations, policies, and programs. We also summarize and help develop responses to public comments, help draft regulatory language, provide outreach and training support, and evaluate program implementation. Additionally, we evaluate program effectiveness. This line of business works with virtually all major federal agencies, with key clients that include program offices across the Department of Labor, Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, Department of the Interior, and Environmental Protection Agency, as well as state and local agencies, and private-sector clients.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:
Collecting and analyzing data
Reviewing literature and other technical reports
Conducting interviews and surveys
Solving quantitative and qualitative problems
Developing recommendations
Drafting reports and presentations
Interacting with clients

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, engineering, environmental management, law, natural or physical science, public policy, urban planning, or related subjects with one year of relevant experience
1+ years experience in cost-benefit analysis or other quantitative analysis
Ability to demonstrate strong quantitative skills
Advanced experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Skills/Experience:
1+ years of experience in program evaluation.
1+ years of experience managing databases or conducting statistical analysis with Access, Stata, SAS, or similar tools.
U.S. citizenship.

Professional Skills:
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Presentation skills, including experience with presenting concepts to clients (both internal and external).
Strong outreach, organizational and self-motivation skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Demonstrated customer service orientation and outstanding level of professionalism.
