Labour Market Analyst - Green Growth

We are looking for a Labour Market Analyst to conduct analytical and methodological work on labour market policies with a particular focus on the labour market implications of a transition to environmentally sustainable growth; including the structural labour market adjustment that will be required and the labour market policies that will be needed to facilitate the required structural adjustment and maintain political support for green growth. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Head of the Employment Analysis and Policy Division of the Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs (ELS). S/he will be part of a horizontal team and work closely with the Green Growth coordinator in the Environment Directorate and other members of the horizontal team.
The key objective of the OECD Horizontal Project on Green Growth is to help countries develop and assess policies aimed at achieving economic recovery and environmentally sustainable economic growth, while addressing social implications for the transition to a green economy.
Job Duties
1. Analysis and drafting
• Conduct a critical literature review of the main labour market issues which will need to be addressed as part of the OECD Green Growth Strategy, which is being developed to provide a comprehensive and whole of government strategy for fostering the transition towards environmentally sustainable growth
• Design and carry out original quantitative research on the labour market impact of a transition towards green growth and the contribution that labour market and training policy can make to achieving a successful transition; prepare analytical and policy-oriented papers based on this research.
• Draft reports in a clear and accessible manner in areas of responsibility.
• Participate in the general work of the Division, reviewing papers, disseminating information on significant developments in the subjects or countries concerned.
