Lecturer/Sr Lecturer in Environmental and Resource Economics

This appointment constitutes a further investment in our vibrant and expanding Department of Economics. We are looking for excellent and ambitious scholars who can help us continue to develop further our achievements in teaching and research. This appointment shall strengthen our Research Group "Public and Environmental Economics”. We are looking for candidates with a strong research expertise in the area of environmental and resource economics. Within this field, we welcome a particular focus on behavioural economics and psychology as well as finance. We are looking for individuals who are interested in contributing to current research projects but who are also keen to apply for new research grants together with colleagues. Candidates must be able to deliver and teach courses in microeconomics, environmental economics and resource economics. We are particular interested in people who can teach finance at all levels.

We promote an exciting research culture generating knowledge, developing new ideas and techniques and attract high quality undergraduate and postgraduate students to an extensive range of programmes. Our research activities inform students' learning and encourage the interaction between academia and the wider society both in terms of policy formulation and outcome evaluation and knowledge transfer to businesses and public organisations. The Department is currently organised into five research groups: a) Macroeconomics and Finance b) Econometrics, c) Economic Theory, d) Public and Environmental Economics and e) Labour/Education/Health Economics.

Lecturer (Assistant Professor) - You will be expected to have very strong academic potential with some evidence of research publications in established journals.

Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) - You will demonstrate a substantial reputation in the field, supported by the quality and volume of your publications, your ability to participate in collaborative research and a track record of successful grant applications.

All candidates are expected to deliver high quality teaching, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and to attract and successfully supervise PhD students.

Salary: Starting from £38,896, rising to £46,414 (Lecturer) or £47801 to £55389 (Senior Lecturer)
