The Community Operations group is charged with the mission to build and preserve the world's engagement and trust in Facebook. We ensure that Facebook is a safe and authentic place for our 1.3 billion community members to engage with each other. The team provides direct support to the Facebook community and develops scaled solutions through qualitative and quantitative insight into behavior of the people who use our service. The Operations Analyst role will join the Reporting Team within Community Operations. As a member of this team, you will help to build and maintain a centralized, certified, and standardized data logging and reporting system that enables the Community Operations team to intelligently serve people at scale. This role is based in our Menlo Park headquarters.

Responsibilities
Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how people on Facebook interact with our online operations
Partner with cross functional Operations teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities
Inform, influence, support, and execute on our operational decisions
Build/maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of our Community Operations teams
Mine massive amounts of data and extract impactful operational insights
Manage development of data resources, gather requirements, organize sources, and support operational initiatives

Requirements
5+ years experience doing quantitative analysis preferably for a social web company
BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other quantitative field. Advanced degrees preferred but not required
Fluency in SQL or other programming languages. Some development experience in at least one scripting language preferred (PHP, Python, Perl, etc.)
Experience with large data sets and distributed computing (Hive/Hadoop) a plus
Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
The ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner
Basic understanding of statistical analysis, experience with packages such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc. preferred
