Pension Risk Analyst

Job Purpose

We are looking to recruit a Pension Risk Analyst. This role is a key part of our Pension Risk team. The key elements of the role involve:
- responsibility for maintaining with up-to-date data our range of analytical tools and models to measure and monitor the risk from Santander's defined benefit pension fund
- running these models, and needing to understand and use the outputs to produce our regular reporting on pension risks
- assisting in the on-going development of our risk analysis
- supporting the team's management in addressing a wide and varied range of queries and requests for analysis and information.
- assisting the team's management in maintaining and updating documentation, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and processes.

This is an exciting role which will suit someone who has a strong desire to develop their existing experience of pension risk, in an environment which will give them the opportunity to use their strong quantitative and analytical skills to both maintain the team's existing analysis and be part of improving and developing new ways of assessing, monitoring and reporting pension risks.

Skills and Qualifications

- knowledge of the features of pensions and pension funds
- experience of Pension risk, either with an actuarial firm or elsewhere within the financial services industry
- knowledge of Pension risk measures used in a Banking environment
- very strong Excel skills, and strong Powerpoint skills
- an ability to explain complex issues to both a technical and non-technical audience
- an ability to work to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines
- strong quantitative background: degree or equivalent in subject such as mathematics, science, actuarial studies or economics

You will ideally have part or all of a relevant actuarial qualification
