Support our waste management clients in California and across the U.S. and have a hand in transforming solid waste practices throughout the region. As a Planner or Economist in our Integrated Waste Solutions group, you will have the chance to deliver solid waste management projects that include providing solid waste master plans, waste diversion plans, corporate waste strategies, organic waste diversion and processing strategies, rate studies, procurement assistance, and cost of services analysis while working with waste management clients in California and throughout the western US regional market. During your time with us, you will also have the opportunity use your knowledge of the solid waste management stream to apply the right tools and systems to organize and successfully deliver projects. General duties and responsibilities include:
Leading the planning efforts on solid waste projects, consistent with project delivery and design processes, and interface with the client on work progress and technical aspects of the project.
Supporting business development activities related to waste management planning projects in California, leading to the award of contracts. This would include client relationship development, project-specific positioning activities, proposal preparation, and oral presentations consistent with established business development processes.
Qualifications
BS/BA degree in planning, economics, or finance
Minimum of 10 years of experience, including 7 years in the waste management industry
Some project management experience, including capability to manage tasks or small to average projects
Have a proven track record in account management, and in positioning for, preparing proposals, and winning solid waste projects
Experience with solid waste planning and financial analysis
In addition to the minimum qualifications, the preferred candidate will also have:
An advanced degree in a relevant discipline
10-15 years of experience in the waste management industry
