Policy Analyst

Supports senior Bank management in identifying thought leadership opportunities and critical issues that can influence the direction of Federal Reserve System policy. Maintains an active working relationship with a broad range of Bank policy representatives and other policy oriented employees both within and outside of the Reserve Bank. Actively leads or contributes to high priority policy initiatives through researching, analyzing, and communicating on such topics.

Essential Accountabilities
• Analyze and contribute to a broad range of policy initiatives relevant to the Bank and Federal Reserve System.
• Conduct research, write articles and prepare briefings to Bank management.
• Assist in educating the organization on methods to enhance its ability to conduct policy analysis through the development and awareness of various tools and techniques.
• Assist in designing and facilitating policy debates on topics important to the Bank and System.
• Assist in facilitating and participating in industry and research forums and opportunities to debate and share knowledge on existing and emerging Federal Reserve System policy matters.
• Assist in preparation of speeches and presentations related to policy topics of interest.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
• Adhere to the Bank's attendance policies through regular and prompt attendance.
• Requires following vaguely defined procedures. Decisions are consistently made within reason and affect the work group or department.

• Individual innovation: Requires working on projects individually rather than as part of a group, motivating self rather than taking direction from someone else.
• Logical analysis: Requires thinking through and solving problems step by step, often looking beyond the obvious solution to a problem and digging deeper for the best solution.

QUALIFICATIONS

•Masters degree in Economics, Public Adminstration, or related technical field.
•1-3 years of related work experience.
•Ability to perform independent research.
•Employees typically sit most of the day, work with a computer and may answer/respond to phone calls.
