The UECE (Research Unit in Economics and Complexity of the University of Lisbon) offers one Postdoctoral Position in the field of Industrial Organization under the supervision of Prof. Filomena Garcia. The research interests of the candidates should include two-sided markets, platforms and the economics of digitization, as well as Antitrust and Regulation. The candidates should show a very strong theory background as well as a command of empirical methods and econometric packages. Candidates with interests in environmental economics and international economics will also be considered.

The duration of this position is of 18 months starting preferably no later than January 2020 (although there is some flexibility). An extension of up to one further year is possible, depending on the availability of funding. Generally there are no teaching obligations but such opportunities are provided if desired by the candidates. Travelling funds for research and conferences are limited but available.

There are some possibilities for spousal/partner accommodations within the same area of research.

Your application should contain your CV (with the grade for the dissertation if applicable), your job market paper and a research statement. Applicants MUST have defended their doctoral dissertation AND be in possession of their diploma. In addition we need three letters of recommendation from scientists not associated with the University of Lisbon. The letters of recommendation are to be sent by the 30th of October of 2019.

By that date, we will start the review process and early application is encouraged as we will use the solution to the secretary problem to select our best candidate.
