The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg (FDEF) has an opening for a Professor in Economic Inequality and Social Welfare (M/F)

Mission
The mission of this professorship will be in close cooperation with the Luxembourg Institute of Socio Economics Research (LISER)
• Teach in the fields of expertise at the relevant academic programme of the FDEF;
• Perform high quality research in the field of Economic Inequality and Welfare s;
• Supervise and train PhD students jointly with the LISER;
• Support the research track of UL master programmes;
• Engage in joint fund raising activities of the parties;
• Participate in the departmental life of CREA;
• Participate in the departmental life at the LISER.

Profile
• A PhD in economics, for at least three years;
• International research on economic and social inequalities, at the theoretical or/and empirical level: inequality of earnings and household incomes; gap between rich and poor countries; inequalities in educational opportunities; health care, morbidity, and mortality; explores political economy of inequality tensions; policy implications.
• A significant record of publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals;
• A proven experience in academic teaching and research at high level;
• High motivation and commitment to integrate CREA and LISER's research agenda and programs;
• Demonstrated interest and ability to work in a multilingual and multicultural environment.
• The University of Luxembourg is set in a multilingual and multicultural environment. For this position a thorough knowledge of English is required. The knowledge of French and/or German is an asset.
