Professor of Health Policy and Economics

You will join the Department of Social Policy, which has an international reputation for excellence, and has the top ranking of all UK institutions in its discipline.

Applications will be considered from outstanding candidates working in health policy and economics with a proven international reputation as evidenced by a substantial body of published research in health policy, economics and public policy.

As well as an excellent publication record, you will have demonstrated success in administrative leadership, a proven track record in securing research funding, and proven abilities in academic management.

You will offer academic leadership in the areas of health care financing, evaluation of policy aimed at improving health and well-being, and comparative public policy across the OECD.

Candidates should hold a doctorate (or equivalent) in Economics or a closely related discipline.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach health policy, health economics, and public policy at both graduate and undergraduate levels and contribute to research programmes of the Department of Social Policy.

You will also be expected to take on a managerial role in the Department's LSE Health group at a future date.

The post is to commence on January 1, 2015 or by mutual agreement.
