POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Title: Program Coordinator, Center for Geoeconomic Studies

Location: New York

Salary: Based on education and experience

CFR's David Rockefeller Studies Program is one of the country's largest foreign policy think tanks with a widely respected and influential research staff. The Studies Program aims to advance the discussion of American foreign policy and international affairs through its writing, publications, public outreach, and discussions. Its Maurice R. Greenberg Center for Geoeconomic Studies (CGS) promotes innovative thinking at the intersection of economics, international relations, and foreign policy, with efforts emphasizing international economic policy; energy, resources, and environment; and economics and international security.

The Program Coordinator will work with a range of CGS fellows under the direction of the Director of the CGS to strengthen and grow the Center's activities. This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in economics and foreign policy who wants to pursue an operations-focused role. The major responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Coordinate events, including high-level workshops, meetings, and roundtables. Includes researching potential speakers and participants, corresponding with participants and speakers, managing logistics in cooperation with other CFR departments, and assisting in supervising any written products.
• Help develop outreach strategies and participate in outreach efforts aimed at media, executive branch, Congress, scholars, and business community, in cooperation with relevant CFR departments. To this end, develop and maintain connections with individuals and institutions interested in the intersection of economics and foreign policy, and further CGS social media strategy.
• Create and manage budget, including tracking program goals, monitoring grant information, writing reports, and tracking monthly statements; liaise across departments and with funders to coordinate budgets and monitor supported projects.
• Research potential funding sources and participate in development of funding proposals.
• Oversee maintenance of CGS website.
• Provide administrative support for the CGS Director, as needed.
Qualifications:
• Degree in a relevant social science or business with clearly demonstrated interest and experience related economics and/or foreign policy (preferably both). Masters preferred.
• 3-6 years related programming, communications, and/or project management experience
• Extremely strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Comfort and experience managing large numbers of tasks and working with multiple senior colleagues.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
