The role
The Research Analyst (Industrial) will contribute to best-in-class research that differentiates Jones Lang LaSalle and builds and maintains a competitive advantage in the marketplace through market expertise, analysis, and insight. The analyst will have primary responsibility for tracking and analyzing all aspects of the local industrial market and leveraging that knowledge proactively for research products, client projects, and business development efforts. The successful candidate will be highly energetic, self-motivated, proactive, a dynamic thinker, creative problem solver with a natural ability to engage with internal clients and team members. This position will work with another full-time Industrial Research Analyst and together have geographic responsibility for the Los Angeles and Inland Empire Industrial markets. This position will office in our Downtown Los Angeles office with occasional travel between other local offices.

Overall objectives
• Work with business leaders, communications and marketing team to position research to contribute to business development efforts
• Continually develop, enhance and leverage detailed knowledge of the local economy and real estate markets
• Proactively find & develop insights & trends; compile, format and deliver information and knowledge on market and economic activity, conditions, trends, and forecasts to internal & external clients in an engaging manner
• Expand the research platform including processes and products
• Seek out, develop, and share best practice standards for the region and the Americas Research Group
• Become an invaluable research & knowledge resource on the local industrial property sector; developing strong relationships with internal and external clients and facilitate the use of research as a differentiator
• Develop and leverage relationships with research counterparts at other local commercial real estate firms
• Understand and manage key resources, local data vendors, and development of effective infrastructure and technology

Specific responsibilities
• Lead quarterly industrial statistics process, including collection, analysis, verification and final approval
• Create, write, analyze and edit quarterly Industrial Reports for local submarkets
• Contribute effectively to all national or regional research reports with specified local market content
• Respond to all internal and external clients' requests for data and information
• Develop white paper reports on key trends and issues affecting the markets, economy, and region
• Track, maintain, and disseminate detailed data for critical indicators including lease and sales comparables, development pipelines and active tenants in the market
• Analyze and report on the local and regional economy with respect to employment statistics, major company activity, industry research and trends and demographics that affect the local industrial market
• Attend all relevant sales or business team meetings and actively contribute local or national research insights
• Administer data and prepare presentations in JLL's proprietary data visualization software powered by GoogleEarth Pro

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or related field desired
• 1-2 years in commercial real estate research or market economy research market (financial services, business research, sales research) desired, preferably for industrial markets
• Solid understanding of real estate markets and a dedication to learning local markets and business
• Knowledge of supply chain logistics a plus
• Motivated self-starter with a desire to succeed and contribute to the success of a team
• Ability to effectively and professionally meet client expectations and positively represent the firm
• Ability to multi-task, work successfully under pressure, and effectively manage time and workload
• Strong analytical, database and problem solving skills
• Solid written and oral communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Proficiency with the following software programs: Microsoft Excel , PowerPoint, and Word. Familiarity with Google Earth a plus.
• Experience in utilizing CoStar and other sources of commercial real estate analytics a plus
