S&P Financial Institutions/Funds Ratings is seeking a Research Assistant -

Standard & Poor's has been providing value-added principal stability, credit, and volatility ratings, to fixed-income investment portfolios since 1984. Since then our ratings have helped provide investors, fund boards, and other constituents with an independent opinion of the risks inherent in their funds. We are the leading rating agency in this sector with over 950 ratings assigned globally to money market funds, fixed income funds, Exchange Traded Funds(ETF's), Local Government Investment Pools(LGIP's), and separate accounts.

The Funds Ratings team is seeking a Research Assistant.

Under limited supervision, follows established procedures, undertakes specified tasks, performing some or all of the following:
Ongoing monitoring of rated funds
Assist in database testing for fund surveillance
Statistical support for criteria related projects
Research for special projects that arise during the year
Generate reports from computer systems
Work in conjunction and at the direction of senior analysts in preparing necessary information for rating committee presentations and management meetings.
Maintain adherence to deadlines
Maintain related records and files.
This is a Guild Represented Position

Qualifications
Qualification include, but are not limited to the following:
Undergraduate degree, preferable majors in Finance, Math, Statistics, Economics, Accounting, or Business Management/ other business related majors
Analytical ability
Attention to detail
The ability to work in a team environment and produce quality work individually
Microsoft Word and Excel are required, PowerPoint and/or Access a plus
Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred
Permanent work authorization for the United States is required
The ability to organize, meet deadlines and to multitask
Good problem solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
