Research Assistant LSE Public Policy Group

London School of Economics
London - United Kingdom

This post is for a three-year LSE-wide research project on assessing the impact of academic work in the social sciences on policy and the economy in the UK, funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).  Candidates should have an excellent first or second degree in public policy, political science, economics, econometrics, computer science or a related area. You should have experience of building and populating large datasets, and be able to use statistical packages to analyse the results. We are especially looking to build outwards from well-developed bibliometric techniques covering conventional academic outputs to find new, accurate and useable methods of tracking and measuring the wider influence of academic work and university research in the social sciences on UK (and European or wider) government, the UK economy and civil society.
