Position
We are looking for a Chicago-based Research Associate to join the AB Growth Research team and work closely with the Capital Goods, Electrical Equipment, Industrial Distributors and Life Science Tools Growth Research Analyst. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to assist a Research Analyst in conducting analysis of the industries and publicly-traded companies to help formulate investment recommendations.

Job Qualifications
We will consider a range of relevant experience including buy and sell-side investment research, investment banking, consultancy, industry, finance and engineering. A CFA designation, or progress towards a CFA designation, is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate should have at least three years of prior experience with a proven track-record of success. We are looking for candidates with relentless intellectual curiosity, who are collaborative team players.

Our Associates typically have track records of outstanding professional performance, excellent analytical and financial skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills. Ideally we are interested in candidates with solid data analysis capabilities inclusive of regression analysis and strong attention to detail.

Job Description
The Research Associate will support our Chicago-based Research Analyst and will be responsible for helping to provide fundamental research on industry sectors and leveraging that insight to help the Research Analyst provide stock investment recommendations.

Specific responsibilities may include:
• Conducting fundamental research of the industry and publicly-traded companies in the sector
• Providing coverage surveillance of the Analyst's sectors including ability to summarize and flag key points from news, sell-side and industry reports
• Building and maintaining detailed financial models including forecasts
• Contributing to written reports/notes of fundamental and valuation analysis
• Helping to formulate investment opinions
• Interacting with Portfolio Managers, as needed, to help the Research Analyst share investment recommendations
• Attending meetings and conference calls with industry experts and company managements
