Research Associate in Health Economics

We are seeking a Research Associate in health economics to join the Cambridge Centre for Health Services Research to work on a number of primary care-related economic evaluations and other studies with an economic or econometric component. In addition, there will be opportunities to contribute to the broader health services research agenda of CCHSR.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to grant applications, publish internationally excellent and world-leading research in high quality peer-reviewed journals and maintain an academic profile through presentation of research at national and international seminars and conferences. The post holder will work under the guidance of CCHSR's director, Professor Martin Roland. Senior economic supervision will be provided by Dr Ed Wilson.

We invite applications from candidates with a good first degree (2.1 or equivalent), a PhD in health economics or a related area, or equivalent experience, experience of research in the health care sector, excellent quantitative skills, ability to analyse and write up data for publication, ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, good time management skills and the ability to cope with a variety of work demands and deadline, a strong track record of publications in high quality peer reviewed journal, experience of economic evaluation in healthcare and experience of econometric analysis.

The Cambridge Centre for Health Services Research (CCHSR) is a collaboration between two leading health care research groups: the Health Services Research Group based in the Institute of Public Health at the University of Cambridge, and the Health and Healthcare Group based at RAND Europe. Together, we form a collective of over twenty researchers from a wide variety of backgrounds, brought together with the common aim of informing policy through evidence-based research on health services, both in the UK and internationally. The groups are led by Martin Roland, Professor of Health Services Research at the University of Cambridge and Tom Ling, Senior Research Leader on the Evaluation and Performance Audit team at RAND Europe.
