Research Economist/Sr Research Economist

The Economic Analysis and Forecasting Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis seeks to hire a Ph.D. economist with expertise in analyzing microeconomic labor market data and a strong interest in policy analysis. The Department provides current economic analysis, forecasting, and policy advice to the Bank's president, Board of Directors, and senior management. While the publication of independent research is encouraged, the primary focus of this position is on economic and policy analysis.

Qualifications
Ph.D. degree in Economics. The successful candidate for this position will have demonstrated experience using microeconomic datasets to provide thoughtful insights into labor market and macroeconomic performance. In addition, the candidate must have good communication skills in translating technical material to both economists and noneconomists.

We will consider both new and experienced Ph.D.s. Hiring at the Senior Research Economist-EAF level requires experience as a tenured or tenure-track faculty member in an economics department or as an economist at a public or private sector institution focused on the rigorous analysis of current economic and policy issues. Senior Economists are expected to have demonstrated proficiency in economic analysis and/or forecasting.
