The successful candidate will work closely with Sarah Thomson to undertake research and other tasks relevant to the project. You will be able to work independently, but within a small team of researchers. You will be based at the London School of Economics & Political Science, but may be required to travel to other countries in Europe from time to time.
The project:
The project involves developing, co-ordinating, carrying out and disseminating policyrelevant research on different aspects of health systems and health policy in selected high-income countries (mainly European countries).
The post:
The post holder's main role will be, in collaboration with Sarah Thomson, to take forward the implementation, documentation and dissemination of research on a range of topics. This implies active involvement in the scientific and administrative activities pertaining to the project.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
Masters degree in social science, social policy, economics or health-related fields
Knowledge of health systems and health policy in high-income countries (preferably in Europe)
Interest in communicating academic research findings to policy makers
Ability to deliver high quality research
Experience in developing and coordinating primary data collection
Ability to enter data and carry out statistical analyses on statistical packages such as STATA, SPSS and Excel OR to carry out qualitative data analysis using packages such as Nvivo
Knowledge of requirements for preparation of academic papers
