We are seeking to appoint two Research Officers to join the Centre for Longitudinal Studies (CLS) to undertake research related to the British Cohort Study 1970 (BCS70) and 1958 National Child Development Study (NCDS). These posts represent an exciting opportunity to undertake high impact quantitative research, primarily related to the 1970 and 1958 cohorts, and to develop your own research agenda.

Through your research you will contribute to the development of these world-renowned studies, that are used extensively by researchers across many disciplines in the UK and internationally. Topics for your research might include issues related to health and well-being, work and employment, and/or economic and social circumstances and inequalities in middle age, and the social and biological processes of ageing.

You will have a strong academic record, demonstrated by a PhD or equivalent experience in a quantitative social science discipline, such as economics, sociology, social policy, psychology, or demography. Candidates with expertise in health-related issues in later life, and with a background in epidemiology or other health-related discipline are also welcomed.

You will also have strong quantitative skills, and experience of working with relevant longitudinal data, such as any of the world's major birth cohort studies. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential for the role.

Salary: £31,342 to £37,394 plus £2,323 London Allowance
