Key Responsibilities:
Collecting, processing and analysing economic, financial, social and political data from a variety of databases and using a variety of methodologies
Presenting and summarising data, insights or relevant literature in a structured and concise manner
Maintenance and development of databases for economic, financial, social and political data
Preparing / maintaining / developing economic models for use in research reports on a variety of topics
Maintaining and developing marketing materials, in particular presentations.
Other ad hoc tasks or projects, including handling bespoke requests from clients.
Working closely with Citi's global team of economists and support staff to achieve the publication and presentation of research in a variety of printed and electronic formats.
Carrying out research on economic trends, themes and changes in the market environment.

Qualifications

Skills:
An understanding and good working knowledge of statistical and econometric techniques, and the ability to collect, manage, handle and analyse data and databases efficiently and rigorously.
Familiarity with macroeconomic and financial concepts and some major economic databases.
Demonstrated understanding of / strong interest in core economic methodologies.
Ability to carry out qualitative research, including literature searches and summaries, informed evaluation of results and an intelligent read of the press and other media
Solid data manipulation skills and a high degree of comfort with MS office applications as well as some statistical software (e.g. EViews, Stata, Matlab); confidence in maintaining and updating models, programs and applications.

Knowledge/Experience:
1-2 years relevant work experience in a
data-intensive environment in economics, preferably in a financial institution or a policy institution.
Experience in collecting, processing and
analysing data in a largely self-directed manner.
Demonstration of an understanding and
enthusiasm for economic and market analysis.

Qualifications:
A Master's Degree in Economics or allied disciplines with a very strong economic background.
Understanding of advanced macroeconomics, monetary theory and finance is highly desirable Accuracy with a strong attention to detail.
Methodical approach and strong organisational capabilities.
Efficiency and speed in carrying out tasks.
Good interpersonal skills and proven team player.
Ability and willingness to learn quickly about new subjects.
Possess a positive attitude, drive and initiative.
