We have an opening for a Researcher to join the Energy, Environment, and Networks practice in our Washington, DC office. NERA's Communications, Media, and Internet experts are global leaders in applying economic expertise to critical challenges faced by private and public entities in the telecommunications, media, and postal sectors. With deep industry knowledge and unparalleled experience, our experts specialize in: Regulation and public policy, Antitrust and business litigation, Spectrum management, and Auctions. Our team includes economists who have worked for broadcasters, mobile network operators, telcos, and postal providers, and for academic institutions and regulatory agencies around the world. We often work with interdisciplinary teams of engineering, finance, and legal experts. Our experience and reach is global, with experts based in Europe, Australia, Asia, and North America working on telecommunications issues throughout the world.

Qualifications

Your responsibilities may include designing and building quantitative models and applying econometric analysis to economic and financial data; reviewing, summarizing, and analyzing industry trends and competitor and academic research; creating trial exhibits and presentation materials; drafting memos and expert reports; managing large data sets and writing programs to implement complex analyses; and participating in client meeting and conference calls.

As a qualified candidate, you should have a BA/BS or MS in economics, public administration, engineering, physics, finance, mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics or other field and enjoy solving analytical and empirical problems and have exceptional creative and critical thinking skills, as well as excellent oral and written communications skills. Telecommunications sector experience a plus. Those with coursework and/or experience in economics/regression analysis, engineering, statistics, applied math, finance, accounting, computer programming and the ability to use statistical software, such as SAS or Stata are more desirable.
