Senior Director - Head of Research

The role

The role of the research team is to support client development by raising the profile of the company through original and innovative research and analysis. Outputs include: client presentations, issues based research, market analysis and forecasting, quarterly reports, seminars, briefing notes and press releases. Research is also commissioned from IPD and other third party consultants.

The department does not have a fee target in recognition of its contribution to client development on behalf of the company. However, it will recharge other departments where a fee is being received and will accept consultancy work where appropriate.

CPD and participation in outside professional activities is essential, including attendance at conferences and presenting papers.

Key Deliverables

Publish a minimum of one thought leadership piece per quarter
Agree and implement a plan to present relevant research to our top 50 clients and clients of BNP Paribas
Design and implement a plan for the production of regular forecasts to be used for reports, presentations, seminars and client workshops
Work alongside the Group Head of Research to position BNP Paribas Real Estate as the market leader of European research
Complete an audit of the BNP Paribas research available and create a plan to use the best of this information with Real Estate clients
Increase our market profile through regular press articles and mentions
Create and implement a plan to consolidate our research data in order to make it more accessible to support business development

Person specification

QUALIFICATIONS

Academic training to masters level in economics, geography, finance or a related discipline with a high proportion of economics

Experience
· A profile within the real estate or similar industry
· Experience in commercial real estate
· Experience of leading and managing a team
· Experience of presenting to large groups of clients
· Working knowledge of French would be an advantage but is not essential
