Location: Newmarket, Ontario
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 35; Scheduled Shifts: 0830 - 1630
Full-Time, Salary $52.91 - $57.51 per hour

Reporting to the Manager, Fiscal Planning, is responsible for providing quantitative analysis, research and advice to assist management in developing strategic fiscal policy, including major initiatives, multi-year fiscal impacts of operating and capital budgets, corporate asset management strategies, program and performance metrics and special purpose corporations such as Housing York and York Region Rapid Transit Corporation (YRRTC).

QUALIFICATIONS

• Successful completion of a Master's Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related discipline or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum five (5) years progressively responsible experience in a large multi-divisional organization including experience in modelling, forecasting, economic indicators, research, analysis and project management.
• Demonstrated experience in the analysis, design, and creation of computerized economic and financial forecasting models incorporating econometric analysis such as multiple and non-linear regression methods.
• Demonstrated experience in writing analytical reports/studies, including the ability to identify problems, research, analyze and interpret data, and make and defend evidence-based recommendations from the results of studies.
• Advanced knowledge and skills in quantitative and statistical analysis.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to interpret and explain relevant regulations, guidelines, procedures, standards and legislation.
• Knowledge of financial and economic principles and practices.
• Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer services, communication, teamwork, initiative/self-management, accountability, and flexibility/adaptability.
• Excellent research, writing and communication skills.
• Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications with advanced knowledge of spreadsheets, database, presentation and wordprocessing software.
• Ability to present recommendations and create compelling presentations to various audiences at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to identify areas for constructive change, communicate issues and potential solutions to management.
• Ability to provide guidance, training, and mentoring to other team members.
• Ability to attend at offsite locations in a timely and efficient manner, as required.
• Ability to work outside regular hours, as required.
