The opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated macroeconomist with experience in economic modelling to join France Stratégie's economic and finance department composed of 10 economists and 5 scientific advisers. You will work in close collaboration with France Stratégie's other departments, and with our cooperating network. Your main task will be to lead the construction and maintenance of an in-house model for mid-to long-term economic forecasting.

France Stratégie is a policy planning agency of the French government, reporting to the Prime Minister.
Our missions are:
- To propose medium-term-oriented assessments
- To conduct evaluations of the effectiveness and efficiency of current policies
- To foster informal discussion of policy option between social partners and within the civil society
- To prepare policy proposals

France Stratégie relies on a team of permanent experts. It includes four primary analytical divisions: Economics and Finance, Sustainable Development, Labour and Employment, Social Policy and Institutions.

We share our expertise with the government, the Parliament, regional authorities, and the general public by issuing policy papers and ongoing consultations. Our analytical proposals cover the areas of economic, social, and environmental policies.

Our in-house team of scholars includes experts with a solid background in research and public policies.

Requirements

· PhD or Master's Degree in economics
· Minimum 2-5 years of experience in applied economics research within a European or international institution, or within a renowned research centre
· Strong command of macroeconomic theory, econometrics and most recent modelling techniques as well as modelling software
· Clear understanding of current European economic issues and policies
· Good verbal and drafting skills in English. Ability to work both in French and in English would be an asset
· Project management skills, clear reasoning, personal commitment, proactive attitude
· Excellent interpersonal skills
