Bank of America's Economic Scenario Development Team is seeking an Econometrician/Economist in Charlotte, NC.

The Economic Scenario Development Team is responsible for econometric modeling and scenario generation to support CCAR, stress testing, and other enterprise risk management activities.

As part of the Economic Scenario Development Team, the candidate will be responsible for economic theory support, model prototyping and testing, verbal and written communication, economic scenario review, narrative, and documentation. The current model coverage includes U.S. national macro-economic models, U.S. regional macro-economic models, International models, FX models, interest rates and other financial market variable models. Our work is fast-paced and intellectually challenging, and we interact daily with quantitative modelers, and senior bank management to improve our models and adapt to changing business needs. Previous econometric modeling experience is desirable but not required for this position, but excellent communication and aptitude for learning is needed.

Conducts economic studies, interprets trends, and develops economic forecasts.

Enterprise Role Overview

Establishes the general framework for economic development analyses. Monitors trends in various sectors of the US. Forecasts changes in business conditions and relationships. Responsible for economic and financial forecasting. Directs the preparation of reports for internal and external distribution, including presentations to the sales force and institutional clients.

Qualifications

Required Skills:
PhD in Economics, Econometrics or equivalent, with a quantitative focus and/or experience;
Extensive economic theory and intuition;
Minimum of 3 years of experience with modeling and forecasting of domestic and international economic indicators, with a balance of qualitative and quantitative expertise;
Solid statistics theory; Intermediate programming skills in SAS, R, S, Matlab or equivalent;
Strong desire to work individually and with a group on
complex problem solving; Strong attention to detail;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired Skills:
Relevant work experience in econometric modeling, especially in interest rate, financial market, international
macro-economic or FX modeling.
Knowledge of financial market, CCAR and stress testing;
Willingness to conduct independent research to come up with innovative solutions to business problems
Ability to work in a time sensitive, market driven environment;
