INRIX is seeking a world class Senior Economist to analyze data to provide insights on public policy and strengthen the INRIX brand. This position will report to the Chief Marketing Officer based in Seattle, Washington.

INRIX is a leading provider of real-time traffic information, connected car services and analytics worldwide. The company leverages big data analytics to reduce the individual, economic and environmental toll of traffic congestion. Through cutting-edge data intelligence and predictive traffic technologies, INRIX helps leading automakers, fleets, governments and news organizations make it easier for drivers to navigate their world.

Your role as Senior Economist would be twofold: to leverage the massive, worldwide INRIX data set covering almost 5 million miles of road in over 40 countries to perform analysis on the economic impacts of INRIX innovation. By helping to create the analysis which highlights how our work in connected cars leads to smarter, more efficient cities you will form a key part of the marketing and messaging team increasing the value of our communication and adding to the INRIX brand. Therefore it's critical that a successful candidate be not only comfortable with the data but also speaking with the press, with industry analysts and representing INRIX at tradeshows and events.

Primary Responsibilities

Conduct company research on connected cars, smart cities, traffic and the economy; analyze large amounts of data and information
Identify newsworthy facts and help write related stories and research articles
Act as company spokesperson as appropriate on key matters of public policy and the economic impact of technology solutions to traffic such as increased integration, autonomous vehicles and real time data management
Provide expert commentary to the media, the public, government and the industry
Act as a consultant to senior leadership and provide input into corporate strategy

Required Skillset

3 or more years of experience in a company, government, or academia
Expert ability using analytic and statistical tools and apply to economic models; familiarity analyzing large data sets
Ability to effectively and succinctly present information during live television or industry conferences
Ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial organization
Results-oriented with a sense of urgency or passion
Research in Smart Cities, traffic, automotive, public sector, telecom, analytics, or government a plus
Ability to travel overnight up to 20%
Ability to speak multiple languages a plus; global experience a plus
PhD in Economics; a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or similar field
