Cardno is seeking a Senior Economist to join our national natural resource economics team as practice leader for the western United States. The position would be associated with one of Cardno's locations in California, Oregon or Washington The ideal candidate has ten or more years of experience, project work in agricultural, climate, and energy economics, experience with valuation of ecosystem services and natural capital, experience providing testimony and litigation support, and a proven track record establishing and building client relationships. The ability to successfully manage multi-disciplinary teams and mentor staff is also critical. The successful candidate will working with Cardno leadership in the west and nationally to develop and actively pursue new markets while maintaining existing client relationships.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Provide technical and economic analyses for a wide range of projects
> Manage small- and large-scale tasks, projects and marketing efforts
> Provide guidance to other economists on research methods and analytical techniques
> Assist in fostering a strong team environment and developing high-quality products


Other Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

> Graduate degree in resource or agricultural economics with ten plus years of professional experience
> Experience as an Expert Witness in litigation matters
> Demonstrated track record of business/client development
> Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, including economic theory, mathematics and statistics
> Experience quantifying economic benefits and costs resulting from projects and polices
> Demonstrated project management experience
> Excellent oral and written communication skills
> Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship

> Excellent interpersonal skills, as the candidate will work closely with clients and other employees
> Ability to simultaneously work on and manage multiple tasks and projects with tight deadlines
> Ability to work well independently and with multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment
> Coursework in business, finance, planning, and environmental sciences
> Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word & Excel, and demonstrated experience with statistical software
> Bilingual capabilities (Spanish) is a plus
