Senior Manager-Stress Testing

Role Summary/Purpose continued: running the execution of stress testing processes as well as timely deliverables of stress testing results mandated by GE Capital headquarters and Energy Financial Services; managing the assessment and reporting key areas of losses identified in stress testing program via Enterprise Risk Management Committee.

Essential Responsibilities:

Manage the efficient and effective execution and life-cycle development of semi-annual enterprise stress testing program, in accordance with SR11-7 standards, covering all required portfolio exposure across GE Capital Energy Financial Services (EFS), as well as in new deal, program or portfolio underwriting, collaborating where necessary with platform leaders and CCOs.

Drive simplicity and efficiencies in the timely execution, usage and deployment of stress testing analytics, including wing-to-wing process management of the application of analytics into stress testing program, the coordination with Finance on PPNR program and the feedback loop of risk assessment of credit loss and equity loss estimates.

Develop a thematic scenario program covering appropriate macro, industry-specific and idiosyncratic factors for EFS business planning and stress testing in collaboration with HQ Enterprise Stress Testing Leader, EFS Enterprise Risk Management Leader and other stakeholders; and integrate the scenario program into semi-annual enterprise stress testing and business planning program for assessing loss impact on business performance.

Develop and implement new stress testing analytics in collaboration with HQ Enterprise Stress Testing Leader, HQ Risk Modeling Leader, and EFS Quantitative Risk and Capital Management Team Leaders, covering the development of equity and commodity stress testing analytics, credit stress testing, embedded loss assessment and capital adequacy as part of CCAR program.

Manage the SR11-7 wing-to-wing process covering model development, documentation, validation, approval, and implementation and monitoring processes, including performing outcome analysis and ongoing monitoring of enterprise stress testing program.

Support delivery of year-end capital plan documentation as well as senior management and regulatory reports, such as Policy 6.0, Enterprise Risk Management dashboards and ad hoc requests involving enterprise stress testing.

Manage multiple, cross-functional (Risk, Finance, IT, Ops) projects addressing data, process, model, analytics and policy gaps involving enterprise stress testing program.

Represent the Quantitative Risk and Capital Management team and GE Capital Energy Financial Services as Subject Matter Expert, as it relates to enterprise stress testing, to all internal and external customers.

Drive communication and training needs pertaining to enterprise stress testing, collaborating with GECC, Functional Leaders and peer Platform Leaders within GE Capital Energy Financial Services as needed.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with key functional stakeholders (Risk, Finance, IT, Ops).


Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Risk related field (Economics, Finance, Math/Stat, Operations Research, etc. with Quantitative underpinning) with 10+ years of relevant Risk or Finance experience.

Strong business finance acumen, especially in consulting, rating or financial industry covering both utilities and energy sectors.

Solid familiarity with the implementation of statistical inference techniques as well as principles of portfolio management.

Demonstrated strong experience in statistical model lifecycle management, including proficient level of expertise with at least one statistical modeling language/utility (Matlab, Stata, SAS or equivalent) and the ability to pick up new statistical language quickly.

Demonstrated experience managing diverse teams of direct reports focused on portfolio data, processes, modeling and analytics. Strong knowledge of MS office tools, and data mining tools (Access, SQL, BO, SAS, etc.)

Desired Characteristics

Graduate degree in Risk related field (Finance, Economics, Math/Stat or others with Quantitative underpinning); FRM and CFA a plus

In depth knowledge of global energy markets with direct experience in corporate finance, energy market modeling and estimation techniques ie. Energy market Valuations, Finance Econometric modeling, Commodity Risk modeling / option trading.

Operational understanding of and experience with Model Risk, and balancing sophistication with simplicity (Ockham's Razor)

Familiarity with Basel-related initiatives, business operations and regulatory matters

Underwriting, portfolio management, financial planning & analysis experience

Strong knowledge of commercial and project finance

Demonstrated ability to lead and support projects from beginning to end

Self-starter, ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and deliver solid action oriented results quickly

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
