Senior Policy Advisors - Consumers and Competition Division

These are influential leadership roles. Managing one or more Policy Advisors or Economists, you will lead policy development and implementation in some of the most high profile and thought-provoking issues faced by the energy industry. These include areas such as:

• improving the processes for switching suppliers;
• the delivery of our work under our Consumer Vulnerability Strategy;
• driving improvements in suppliers' customer service;
• promoting the wider benefits of smart meters;
• monitoring and researching the retail energy market to assess the impact of reforms and identify areas that would benefit from policy interventions.

Currently, we're looking to recruit a number of Senior Policy Advisors. We are looking to create a talent pool of applicants from this process that we can use to fill current vacancies and subsequent positions over the next 3 months. In each case, we're looking for people who are self-driven, with the ability to take the initiative, demonstrate intellectual leadership and engage a complex stakeholder community. Strong analytical insight must be supported by clear process and methodology. You must be able to understand, structure and manage a programme of analysis and evidence-gathering, developing high-quality policy recommendations based on clear, robust decision-making. Excellent relationship management skills and the ability to supervise and develop colleagues to ensure the team's work is of consistently high quality are essential.
