The Ministry of Infrastructure, Infrastructure Policy and Planning Division is seeking a strategic thinker with experience developing policies, strategies and processes to provide expert advice on infrastructure financing, policy, regulation and investment in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:
• develop policy and financial advice for senior executives within the Ministry, Treasury Board, Management Board of Cabinet and Cabinet Committees
• have central agency capital planning responsibilities for assigned line ministries
• lead and perform complex research and analysis that support the development of infrastructure policies and programs focused on financing and partnering with the private sector to deliver infrastructure projects
• regularly brief senior executives
• consult with partner ministries and other internal and external stakeholders

How do I qualify?

Infrastructure and Technical Knowledge:
• you have knowledge of public administration (or related discipline), economics and statistics and business administration (or a related discipline) to analyze and develop policy recommendations
• you have knowledge of infrastructure sectors and policy to recognize emerging issues
• you can acquire knowledge of the Ministry's priorities, challenges, decision-making structures and policy development processes to provide strategic advice and options
• you have knowledge of program and evaluation processes as well as regulatory and legislative frameworks

Stakeholder Management and Communication Skills:
• you can develop and maintain networks of credible contacts and build/maintain positive and trusting public-private partnerships
• you have consultation and negotiation skills to develop options and build support for them
• you have presentation skills to present options and advice to a range of audiences, including senior management on tight timelines
• you have communication skills to prepare a variety of complex materials such as reports and briefings

Project Management and Analytical Skills:
• you have demonstrated project management skills to lead research projects
• you have analytical skills to develop sound policy and financial advice for senior executives

Computer Proficiency:
• you have knowledge of systems, software and network-based programs to prepare various reports, presentations, correspondence and briefing materials
• you have knowledge of computer-based quantitative skills to undertake and interpret policy and data analysis

Salary range: $80,592.00 – $105,075.00 per year
