The Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS), Brunei Darussalam is an independent Think Tank, which conducts research and provides policy advice on national development for Brunei Darussalam.

We are seeking qualified and highly motivated applicants for the following position:

Job Code: RD/SR SENIOR RESEARCHER
(2 years renewable contract at an all-inclusive salary of up to a maximum of BND14,000 per month, tax free, including one economy return ticket)

The Centre is looking for a highly experienced economics and policy researcher to join its research team working on a range of strategic and policy areas particularly on Brunei's economic development and diversification, productivity and growth and industrial transformation.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, management and delivery of specific research projects.
• Conduct high level applied research in relevant fields and deliver timely reports and papers.
• Conduct relevant seminars, workshops and conferences.
• Liaise and network with relevant research networks and the Centre's stakeholders.
• Write publishable papers for the CSPS Strategy and Policy Journal and Policy Briefs.
• Report directly to the Chief Researcher and the Executive Director.

Candidate Requirements:
• Holds a PhD in Economics.
• Has a minimum of 10 years' professional experience in Applied Research in Economics and Policy Analysis.
• Good publications record.
• Has substantial expertise in developing and or emerging economies.
• Proven expertise in researching and analysing complex ideas, concepts and theories and linking these to the desired policy objectives.
• Proven experience in survey research methodology.
• Excellent communication skills and a high level proficiency in English language.
• Proven managerial and or leadership expertise.
