Description

Manages and participates in production of quarterly forecasts and written analysis of economic conditions. Works with market level data using extensive understanding of econometric modelling and forecasting of complex market relationships at the metro and macro levels.
Develops and oversees the economic, interest rate, equity, fixed-income market outlook and interpret the implications of this outlook for real estate as an asset class.
Undertakes quantitative analysis with time series econometric techniques and convert to transparent and defensible market forecasts.
Analyzes economic and market trends and incorporate findings into presentations, reports and white papers.
Conducts presentations internally and externally as needed to support business development efforts.
May serve as internal and external spokesperson real estate issues. May also help prepare senior executives for speaking engagements.

Remains current of major new issues and techniques.
Plays a leading role in developing new tools and methods with which to serve clients.
Other duties may be assigned.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan and supervise assignments of lower level employees.

Qualifications

Master's degree or PhD in Economics, with four to six years experience in commercial real estate or economic forecasting.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues.
Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style.
Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups.
Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles.
Ability to calculate complex figures.
Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.
Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.
Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment.
Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
Excellent knowledge of econometrics as evidenced by publications or projects.
Advanced knowledge of computer software and hardware (i.e. Microsoft office Suite Products) with proficient Excel skills.
Ability to work well under pressure, with multiple/competing deadlines. Outside of being excellent applied-economists in the field of commercial real estate, senior economists also need to be adept programmers in database and statistical software environments.
Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines.
Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines.
Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
