PUBLIC BUDGETING, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, AND GOVERNMENTAL ACCOUNTING

The School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at Indiana University-Bloomington seeks applications for one or more anticipated tenure-track position in the general field of public budgeting and finance, broadly defined to include: budgeting, financial management, public debt and capital markets, government treasury operations, capital budgeting, and public pension policy and management. Exceptionally qualified candidates at the associate or full professor rank will also be considered. Multiple hires are possible.

For appointment at the assistant, associate (tenure-track) or full professor rank, an active record of scholarship in budgeting and financial management is the primary qualification. The successful applicant should present evidence of high quality research and an ambitious research program, an interest in applied work, and a strong commitment to teaching. The Ph.D. or an equivalent terminal degree by August 1, 2015 in a related field (e.g., public administration, public affairs, economics, political science, public policy, finance or accounting) is required. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA, CPFM) are desirable. Other desirable qualifications include comparative and/or international experience or research interests, research or instructional capabilities in nonprofit finance, and professional experience in government or public affairs.
