We are recruiting Economic Analysts to join our transfer pricing team.

Background to KPMG's transfer pricing team

KPMG's transfer pricing practice is a dynamic and successful area within our tax business. A constantly changing and increasingly high-profile field, transfer pricing can offer a surprisingly broad range of quality career paths to ambitious people.

We are a national team of 85 transfer pricing specialists including 5 partners mostly based in London and key UK cities. We are a diverse team, with people from very different backgrounds. We have a strong reputation for quality and ambitious growth targets for the coming years.

Staff are allocated to industry teams, but have lots of flexibility to work across industry sectors, and with different partners and directors. More specialism is expected at senior manager level and above. There is a good mix of economists and tax professionals with backgrounds from industry, practice and HMRC. There are currently 15 economists (all with PhD or Masters degrees), who frequently get together to share knowledge and ideas in order to apply economic concepts to our client's transfer pricing questions.

Roles and Responsibilities

The work we do as economists in transfer pricing includes:

- Price planning & optimisation studies
- Benchmarking of market prices across all industries and transaction types
- Interviewing clients to understand activities and value drivers for our clients businesses

- Economic valuation (mostly of IP assets)
- Tax authority enquiries and Advance Pricing Agreements
- M&A due diligence - deal support
- Documentation of pricing policies

We require:

- Economists with a Masters/PhD degree in an Economics related discipline
- Highly motivated individuals with drive, enthusiasm and good work ethic
- An aptitude for working as a consultant, with strong people skills for engaging our clients and team members
