The Transportation Economist- Jr will contribute toward the development of a newly created Economic Service Center. S/he will join an established and rapidly growing team of planners, economists, and engineers recognized for innovative work in transportation planning, economics, and policy. This position will entail providing economic advice and support in studies related to regional economics and economic development, transportation policy, financial analysis, and other related areas. S/he will perform data collection, develop and conduct spreadsheet analyses, run economic simulation models, and conduct statistical analysis. S/he will also assist in the preparation of proposals and reports and conduct research on a varied array of challenging transportation projects.

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree.1 plus years applied project experience and conducting economic analyses (optimally in transportation planning) and experience with statistical analysis packages, economic databases, econometric and input/output models. S/he should have strong analytic, writing, and communication skills.

Preferred Requirements:

Master's degree in Economics or related field. Experience with travel demand forecasting models, transportation planning concepts and tools, commodity flow databases and geographic information systems (GIS) and consulting experience are a plus.
