Westminster Forum Projects
London - United Kingdom
28th February 2018

I was just contacting you to enquire whether Economics Job Rumours might consider listing either in its newsletter or on its events page details of our upcoming Policy Forum for London seminar Brexit and the City - regulation, workforce and market opportunities. The seminar will include keynote addresses from Catherine McGuinness, Chairman, Policy and Resources Committee, City of London Corporation and Richard Knox, Director, Financial Services (International), HM Treasury. The discussion is timed as the UK continues to negotiate its departure from the European Union, and will bring out latest thinking on the regulatory and economic implications for financial services and related sectors operating in the Square Mile. I have copied below further event details, please do get in touch if you have any questions.

Kind Regards,
Abbie

THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED
This seminar will bring together UK and EU policymakers with industry stakeholders to consider how the City of London can prepare for the challenges and opportunities presented by Brexit.
The discussion is timed as the UK continues to negotiate its departure from the European Union, and will bring out latest thinking on the regulatory and economic implications for financial services and related sectors operating in the Square Mile.
Delegates will discuss how the UK’s financial regulatory regime might adapt post-Brexit, looking in particular at options for developing an appropriate level of equivalence with existing EU regulations, as well as the future for the financial passporting regime and the potential loss of euro-denominated clearing in London.
Further sessions will discuss supporting the City’s post-Brexit growth, focusing on ways in which the City could re-orientate its operations to non-EU markets and support London in becoming a world leader in new and emerging sectors - such as FinTech and cyber infrastructure. This includes discussion of the impact that the ending of Freedom of Movement and the introduction of a new post-Brexit immigration system will have on skills and attracting international talent to the Capital.
Speakers and other delegates at this conference are expected to be a senior and informed group including Members of both Houses of Parliament and MEPs, senior UK and EU officials involved in this area of public policy, together with key stakeholders from the banking, commercial property, insurance and legal services markets, investors, wealth managers, advisory firms, analysts, commentators, think tanks, academics, together with members of the national and trade press.
