The Division of Economics at the School of Business is pleased to open a call for papers for the IV International PhD conference taking place on 22 - 23 March 2018.
Conference Overview

The 4th Economics International PhD Conference aims to bring together PhD students from different fields offering a chance to present their research in front of a diverse audience. The conference targets to assist young researchers to build a global professional network with peers and academics, through an amicable and intellectually stimulating environment.

Sessions

The two-day event will be split into four broad sessions. Researchers will get feedback from assigned discussants, along with a versatile audience, including many top academics from different fields. Each session will be organised as follows:

• Presentation: 30 minutes
• Discussion: 5 minutes
• Q&A: 10 minutes

Any paper from Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Experimental Economics, Behavioural Economics, Econometric Theory and Empirical Economics will be considered for presentation.

The conference also gives the opportunity to PhD students to present their work in a poster session.

Funding

The cost of travel and accommodation will be covered by the University for presenters (session and poster) and discussants as follows.

Travel

Maximum GBP 700 for participants outside Europe
Maximum GBP 400 for participants within Europe
Maximum GBP 100 for participants from the UK
Accommodation

3 nights (21,22,23/03) fully paid stay for participants outside Europe
2 nights (21,22/03) fully paid stay for participants from Europe and the U.K.
Any special considerations concerning travel funding and accommodation arrangements will be communicated through email, if such situation arises.

Catering

Breakfast will be provided in the accommodation venue.
Lunch will be provided in the conference venue on both conference days.
There is a social dinner on 22/03 in the accommodation venue.
Submission

Please submit your paper for session or poster presentation using the application form. PhD students interested in participating as discussants should also apply through the same link. The form will be open from 27 November 2017 to 24 January 2018. Successful applicants will be notified on 5 February 2018. For international applicants, formal invitation letter (for visa purposes) will be provided after notification of acceptance through e-mail.
