Looking for a Career in Public Policy?

A U.S. leader in aging policy is looking for talented and creative thinkers to help solve the pressing problems that threaten the long-term financial security of Americans.

The AARP Public Policy Institute (PPI) develops creative policy solutions to address our common need for financial security, health care, and quality of life. Founded in 1985, PPI informs and inspires public debate on the issues we face as we age, by publishing policy reports and convening leading experts for discussion of key national and state policy matters.

As a senior advisor, you will be responsible for identifying policy challenges and solutions. You will contribute to a team of experts through: 1) your issue areas of expertise; 2) your ability to develop policy options and strategies to enable AARP to promote changes in improving the lives of Americans age 50-plus and their families; and 3) your skills in using appropriate methodologies and data to conduct and oversee original policy research on highly-visible and potentially controversial policy issues that may lead to legislative and regulatory proposals.

Competitive candidates should possess the following:
• An advanced degree in Economics, Public Policy, or other Social Sciences, or related discipline, and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in research and data analysis and public policy evaluation and development. Completion of a doctorate degree is preferred.
