Your Work:
You will be responsible for shaping groundbreaking risk analytics for food companies and livestock supply chains. As a subject matter expert with quantitative skills, you will be responsible for working closely with our data science teams, customers and product teams to translate and apply analytics to real-world agribusiness challenges and risk transfer solutions.

You have a strong quantitative skillset with food production or broader agribusiness background.

Responsibilities:
You will be a member of the Product team, reporting to the Head of Veterinary Science & Risk Analytics, in the evaluation and interpretation of global food production systems
Interact with food companies and their data, develop and execute analysis plans, and effectively communicate findings
Integrate requirements from food companies, industry experts, and data scientists/modelers into a cohesive analytical and product strategy that maximizes value to our customers
Provide interpretation of analyses and explain methodology to team members and customers
Create customer-facing reports of analytical work and present to internal and external stakeholders in the food industry
Develop and present methodology and findings at industry events and conferences

Specifically you have:
A Master's degree in animal or food science, agribusiness, agricultural economics, or related fields with a strong quantitative focus or Masters degree in agribusiness/agricultural economics plus 5 or more years of hands on experience with data management, production or risk analytics, and/or mathematical modeling methods. Ph.D. is a plus.
Analytical experience in one or more sectors associated with food production systems (meat and poultry preferred) to include but not limited to, supply chain optimization, pathogen reduction strategies, risk mitigation, economic evaluation, financial modeling, etc.
Knowledge and experience with production animal diseases a plus; interest a must.
Knowledge and experience with agricultural insurance programs a plus.
Experience with crop production systems a plus.
Experience with statistical software and associated programs (e.g., R, Python, WinBUGS)
Experience with applied Bayesian methods or spatial analysis a plus.
The ability to develop creative analytical methodologies and apply them effectively to food production systems in field settings.
The ability to effectively explain complex analytical approaches to individuals from different disciplinary backgrounds, to include operational managers responsible for different segments of food production systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Self-starter able to work independently and take ownership of work.
