The Competition and Markets Authority
London - United Kingdom
S: £30,145 - £33,762

Economics is at the heart of the Competition and Markets Authority. We have an exciting opportunity which calls for an experienced and enthusiastic economist keen to work on large-scale investigations with a team of exceptional practitioners.

In this role, you will join a strong community of Economists, working in a collaborative, collegiate atmosphere to manage a diverse case load. You will apply your knowledge and experience of economics to real world and often large-scale and complex issues. Economists have also played a key role in the CMA's recent investigations of energy and banking, and in high-profile competition enforcement cases. Projects will cover all sectors of the economy, from investigating mergers that could restrict competition, to analysing markets or assessing firms' practices, and your work will have real impact on consumers and businesses.

We will provide a range of opportunities to develop your economic expertise including training courses, lunchtime seminars and discussion groups on economics topics. We will also support and encourage you to develop your wider skills – including communications, drafting, management skills and project management.

All CMA staff enjoy generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, childcare vouchers, our employee wellbeing programme and favourable consideration of flexible working.
