The Department of Economics at the University of New Mexico (UNM), in partnership with the Latin American and Iberian Institute (LAII), invites applications for a faculty appointment in the Department of Economics beginning August 8, 2016. This appointment is benefits eligible, at the rank of Assistant Professor, in a probationary position leading to a tenure decision.
Minimum qualifications are a doctoral degree in economics or a related field (conferred by August 2016) with a demonstrated area in environmental/resource economics. The preferred candidate will demonstrate:
• The potential for a successful Latin American research program;
• A secondary field in development economics or public economics;
• The potential to develop a successful research and extramural grant program;
• The ability to teach in the graduate core sequence;
• The potential to excel at teaching graduate and undergraduate courses
• A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
