Evercore ISI, a New York based boutique sell-side securities firm has an immediate opening for a senior China researcher within the Research Department in our west Los Angeles office. Our clients are major institutional money managers worldwide. Position works closely with Head of China Research. Perform and jointly oversee analysis of China's economy, policies, key sectors, industries and companies. Search, think, analyze, write, review, revise, present and defend. Research all key China topics. More macro than fundamental focus. Interesting questions never stop. Regular contact with Evercore ISI clients, management and sales. Build and maintain professional relationships. China is at the core of the firm's research activity.

Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of full-time experience with a macro, strategy and/or sector focus on China/Asia, emerging or developed markets. Proficient with macro analytical tools and methods, Excel, PowerPoint. Familiar with popular macro databases. Work in a collegial but hard-driving team setting. Passionate for China and research. Learn with high energy. Proactive work attitude with attention to detail. Able to multitask andprioritize. Masters/PhD in Economics or MBA equivalent. CFA a plus. Fluent Chinese Mandarin in reading and listening highly preferred, but not a must. Fluent English in all aspects. Candidates need to be intellectually curious and value building their human capital in both China and global matters – economics, policy, finance and markets.
