OUR CLIENT:
We are recruiting for a Saudi Ministry based in Riyadh. The successful candidate will be offered a full-time employment contract directly from the Ministry.
The successful candidate will join the Ministry's division at the forefront of economic development in Saudi Arabia.
A highly competitive salary, commensurate with the seniority of this post, and a very attractive overall compensation package is available to the successful candidate.

ROLE:
The Economic Reporting Directorate (ERD) has openings for specialist and expert communications professionals.
The communications specialists/experts play a key role in helping convey the ERD's policy messages to external and internal audiences, including policymakers in the Saudi government, international organisations, the national and international press, economic analysts in the public and private sectors, and the general public. The ERD's analysis and operations span a variety of complex topics and multifaceted activities, including macroeconomic surveillance, macroeconomic reporting, monetary and fiscal, subsidiary reform, competition, and labour markets analysis. The communications specialists/experts support the department's strategic communications efforts across this range of topics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Manage the Directorate's communication strategy, including public and media engagement
 Build and maintain a network of relevant external contacts in Saudi Arabia and internationally
 Draft speeches, speaking notes, presentations, op-eds, and other communication materials for the Deputyship office and other senior staff
 Support outreach by the Deputyship office and other senior staff, including by coordinating/advising on media engagement and participation in public affairs events
 Contribute to Deputyship office's strategic work by helping craft and implement Deputyship's communication strategy,
 Maintain regular contacts with relevant staff in the international economic organizations and organize regular coordination meetings
 Lead the production of economic publications and newsletters
 Comment from a communications perspective on key written products
 Work in close collaboration with the ministry's communications department to ensure timely dissemination, and draft outreach materials such as press releases and video texts
 Manage the ERD's editors on call

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EDUCATION
 Bachelor's degree or higher in journalism, economics, finance or another relevant discipline

EXPERIENCE
 At least five years' experience in a journalistic, government or public sector organisation
 Clear evidence of significant and pertinent written economic writings in English or Arabic
 Demonstrable track record of communications

SKILLS
 Excellent writing skills with a proven record of drafting speeches and other published material (such as in economic press, articles, commentary, editorials, and blogs)
 Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak persuasively and to present ideas clearly and concisely with senior policy officials. Fluency in Arabic would be an asset.
 Proven ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
 Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to function both independently and as a member of a team
