KPMG is currently seeking a Deputy Chief Economist, to join our Chief Economist Group.
Responsibilities:
Provide actionable macroeconomic insights derived from analysis of the US and global economies
Work directly with the chief economist and senior management on key business problems faced in our audit and advisory practices
Think strategically about how to apply insights for the benefit of KPMG leadership and clients
Produce both periodic and ad hoc reports on topics in conjunction with stated goals in connection with KPMG's sector leaders to be used in thought leadership and presentations
Lead and/or participate in projects involving a combination of econometric analysis, data exploration, data visualization, and insightful and clear writing
Qualifications:
Minimum four years of analytical work experience in an asset management, finance or corporate setting
Ph.D. or Master's degree in macroeconomics from an accredited college or university
Data analysis of time series data and econometric skills including Excel, E-Views, Haver Analytics, Bloomberg, Macro Economic Advisers, and Oxford Economics
Experience working with large unstructured data sets a plus including working knowledge of Hadoop, R, MySQL, DataWrangler, as well as use of various trees and other big data analysis tools
Must have a global view and the ability to link together activities in global economies via capital flows, trade flows, global labor demand, geopolitics, and other influencers
Strong public speaking experience with executive presence and the ability to interface with C-suite clients and members of KPMG's management team
