IPPR is seeking to recruit an Economic Analyst or economic Research Fellow with a track record in economic research or economic policy making; a good understanding of government and the public policy making process; and excellent quantitative skills. The successful candidate will help shape the work of IPPR's Commission on Economic Justice, a two-year research programme to be launched this Autumn. The remit of the Commission is broad, covering industrial policy, macroeconomic frameworks, and reform of the tax system, and there will be the opportunity to specialise in a particular area of economic policy as the work programme develops.

The key responsibilities will include: helping to design and deliver quantitative economic research projects; working with colleagues across the Institute to provide analytical expertise as they develop their research methodologies; and helping to communicate IPPR's work on the economy via engagement with policymakers and other stakeholders, publication of blogs, and media appearances.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of economic policy, with the ability to link data analysis to current policy debates. They will have at least two years of experience in a policy or research environment, and will be comfortable using a range of advanced quantitative/econometric methods, both in Excel and at least one type of statistical software.
