AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Economist Analyst for employment in the Portland, Maine, Philadelphia, PA, Baton Rouge, LA, or our New Orleans, LA office locations.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment performing economic and socio-economic analyses for a variety of transportation, water, flooding, navigation, recreation, environmental, and regional input/output studies.

The analyst will support the development and application of economic models and the interpretation of results and will put data into report format, help draft results, and arrange for preparation of graphic illustrations of research findings. The economic analyst may work independently or assist senior economists.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Collects, organizes and evaluates data relating to economic issues

Utilizing knowledge of available data sources and various econometric techniques and economic models.

Sound knowledge of economic methods and the ability to apply them

Economic analysts evaluate existing research findings to determine applicability to the client engagement.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree in Economics or similar related field
Experience with MS EXCEL or ACCESS (including VBA macros) and econometric programs
Experience in basic statistics/applied econometrics or forecasting
Ability to apply economic principles to a variety of situations.
Ability to solve problems creatively.
Strong quantitative and statistical skills.
Strong oral/written communications

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in economics or equivalent
experience applying economic models
excellent data management skills
a commitment to quality and providing objective analysis
an attention to detail
the ability to interact with clients on a regular basis
