POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Office of the Chief Economist, the Sr. Professional, Research Analysis will work both independently and as part of a team to manage custom research projects. Duties will include identifying research opportunities, collecting internal or external data, assembling and reviewing custom data extracts and providing summarized analytics to real estate, mortgage and housing finance audiences. The research and/or content will be disseminated via publications, blog posts, presentations or to senior management. The position requires knowledge of public records such as deeds, deeds of trust, liens and tax assessor data. The position also requires knowledge of statistical techniques and an understanding of real estate and mortgage market trends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares statistical programs, documentation and written analysis to be disseminated internally to senior management or externally to the public via publications, blogs, presentations and white papers.
Proactively researches quantitative and qualitative ideas both independently and as a part of research group.
Assists other Economists in completing group research objectives, monthly analyses and improve or enhance data, research and models.
Assesses and communicates research results to internal and external stakeholders.
Fulfills ad-hoc requests for data and analytical reporting to support business units throughout the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS [SKILLS & EXPERIENCE]

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field strongly preferred; Master's degree preferred.
5-7 years of directly related experience in research analytics; mortgage or real estate industry experience is required.
Understanding of public records data such as deeds, deeds of trust, liens or tax assessor data; Knowledge of mortgage servicing or MLS data is a preferred.
Relational database principles and experience developing SQL scripts required; SAS proficiency preferred.
Highly accurate with strong attention to detail; high degree of quality orientation; maintains internal and external data integrity, security and confidentiality.
Effective at managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines, ability to deliver solid and consistent results and bring assignments to successful completion. Strong organization and prioritization skills.
Solid analytical, quantitative skills; strong decision making capabilities coupled with the ability to analyze situations and provide recommendations in a clear, concise manner.
Strong technical aptitude; proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
Strong written/verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively and proactively communicate with a team, stakeholders and internal clients.
Collaborative style; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the organization.
Strong project management skills; self-motivated; ability to work independently.
Ability and willingness to travel as needed; estimate up to 10%.
