JOB SUMMARY

Produces forecast and professional written analyses of hotel real estate markets. Apply a clear understanding of economic theory (especially macro) to work with databases, econometric modeling and forecasting involving complex market relationships. Produces creative, professionally written and thoughtful reports and articles using well-developed presentation skills. Responds to client and management questions regarding the general field of economics and hotel real estate investment.

Produces quarterly forecasts of hotel markets and property combinations as part of a team.

Provides written analysis explaining market environment and likely outcomes for clients.

Participate in client conference calls by presenting forecasts and market analysis.

Writes creative, insightful industry relevant articles, the quality of which establishes CBRE as the hotel industry leader.

Provides on-going support by phone/email/or in person to clients with questions regarding the economic data and forecast.

Develop relevant research ideas for group discussion.

Other duties may be assigned.

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in economics from four year college or university; master's degree in economics preferred.
Two to four years of related experience. Experience in commercial real estate or econometric forecasting in another industry are desirable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles.
Conducts basic financial analysis.
Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
Outside of being an applied economists in the field of commercial real estate, there is also the need interact with programmers in database and statistical software environments.
Work closely with programmers to provide insight and feedback as programmers create and update statistical databases.
Responsible for meeting firm deadlines and setting own project deadlines.
