DAI Energy and Resources Group (ERG)
Bethesda - United States
S: Dependent on Experience/Quals

DAI ERG is seeking an Economist to support the development of an economic agent-based model (ABM) designed to explore the participation of local economic agents in the construction and/or operation of major extractive sector investments (primarily oil, gas, and mining).

To date, an initial version of the model has been defined but requires further theoretical definition. It will be the task of the Economist to work with the Project Manager and other team members to provide and document this definition.

The Economist will provide his/her support to the software development team in a short-term consulting capacity. The Economist will have research experience and a background in computational economics. Applicants who also possess experience in either or both of the following disciplines will receive preferential consideration:
• Development economics
• Economics of competitiveness (firm, sector, etc.)

It is anticipated that this consultancy begins in January, 2017 and runs until July, 2017 with the possibility of extension.

This consultancy may be conducted remotely.

Candidates holding relevant doctoral degrees will be given priority consideration. However, doctoral students in relevant disciplines will also be considered.

Interested applicants should email CV and cover letter to Luke Kozumbo at energy_resources@dai.com.
