About the role:

Zillow's Economic Research team is looking for an applied econometrician and economist with superb technical skills and a real passion for applying economic thinking to turn data into compelling insights. In this role you will:
Conduct research and analysis of real estate markets, evolving demographic phenomena, and past and future market patterns and trends on projects that include both periodic market reports of various types as well as specific deep dives on topics of interest to you and Zillow customers.
Build predictive statistical, econometric, and machine learning models to power tools and features on Zillow
Combine econometric analysis, data exploration, data visualization, and insightful and clear writing to help consumers make housing related decisions

What you bring

Ph.D in economics or other highly quantitative field.
A deep knowledge of econometrics and statistics and demonstrated research ability applying these skills.
Experience with R statistical software or similar coding language (e.g., Matlab, Stata, GAUSS, SAS).
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Experience with data access and manipulation tools (such as SQL) or visualization software (such as Tableau) is a plus
